Team Development

Collaboration

On the basis of the social behaviour of monkeys and the way in which they are able to cooperate, our own behaviour is examined. We are challenged to imagine what it would be like if we were to roam the savannah again and be confronted daily with lions and hyenas.
What is the basis for good cooperation and which behaviours play a crucial role in this?

Communication

Many problems and questions in companies are related to (mis)communication. Interests of employees and managers can lead to conscious miscommunication. What Van Veen refers to as "impoverishment" is a process in communication in which we tell only a part of or a distorted message. This concerns verbal versus non-verbal and conscious versus unconscious communication.
On the basis of the behaviour we see in monkeys, we can link these problems to our social primal behaviour and can place them in a different context.

"Changing is something that is in our genes, only organisations always
know how to motivate the wrong genes: that of resistance."
